From Tibetan Chants to Spanish Trance
As a two-year-old Spanish child Osel Hita Torres was selected by the Dalai Lama to be taken from his home in Granada to a monastery in Southern India where he became a Buddhist lama. He grew up in Tibet sheltered from western culture. But at eighteen he turned his back on monastic life and returned to Spain. Now twenty seven, he lives in Ibiza where he makes trance music. He spoke to Jolyon Jenkins about his first experience of a Spanish disco and his love of Tibetan culture.
