Will We Ever Know What Drove Mica Miller To Take Her Own Life?

Can coercive control lead to murder charges?
When Micah Miller, the wife of Pastor John Paul Miller, took her own life in April 2024, it left a trail of disturbing questions and allegations. Their tumultuous relationship—born out of an affair with a babysitter who was also his best friend’s wife—was riddled with toxic behavior, accusations of coercive control, and alleged mental health struggles on both sides.

John Paul claims he was her rock, helping her through severe mental health crises, but evidence from Micah’s own writings and videos paints a starkly different picture. With allegations of tracking devices, tire slashing, and financial red flags, it’s clear this story goes far beyond a simple tragic relationship.

Could someone’s toxic behavior ever cross the line into criminal responsibility for another’s suicide? Is it ever truly possible to untangle the threads of manipulation, mental illness, and reality in such a murky case?
