For people facing a cancer diagnosis, the path to completing cancer treatment can be long and difficult. The goal—to eliminate the cancer and go back to “normal.” However, for patients with advanced or stage 4 cancer, this goal may no longer be feasible. Patients face many tough decisions throughout the course of treatment, but one of the toughest decisions is deciding when it’s time to stop treatment.
