JUNETEENTH - A CONVERSATION ABOUT HOW BLACK CULTURE SHAPED COUNTRY MUSIC

On Monday June 19th Chicago’s WUSN (US*99 Chicago’s Country Station) and Audacy Country’s Scotty Kay teamed up with Atlantic country music star Breland, to discuss the important history and influences of black culture on country music.  During the special program, Scotty and Breland touched on topics like, how our favorite artists today were ultimately inspired by black culture, the history of the banjo, how all genres including country music can be attributed back to black culture, the history of blues and gospel music and how it impacts today country music, the documentary “For Love & Country”, and much more.
