Post Malone officially becomes a part of the Country music family this week with the release of his debut Country album, F-1 Trillion, and Country fans and artists could not be more excited to welcome him with open arms. Post Malone officially becomes a part of the Country music family this week with the release of his debut Country album, F-1 Trillion, and Country fans and artists could not be more excited to welcome him with open arms.

One of those cheering him on most is his new friend, fellow artist and album collaborator, Lainey Wilson, who not only lent her vocals for a track on the album, but also has a songwriting credit.

“The first time I really got to spend time with him is when we wrote,” Lainey told Audacy’s Scotty Kay of the first time she met Post. “We wrote through the night — probably 12-13 hours… We ended up writing several songs that night and one of the songs on the record that him and Dolly Parton do together is one that we wrote that night.”

While she wrote the song, which is titled, “Have the Heart,” Lainey says she’s having to wait along with the rest of us to hear the finished product with vocals by Posty and the Legendary Parton. “I have not heard it since we wrote it,” she stated.

As she waits anxiously to hear the finished product for that track, there’s another she knows exactly what to expect and that’s her duet with Post titled, “Nosedive,” which Lainey shared was written by Post and Luke Combs.

“This is some rockstar stuff,” Lainey said of what was running through her mind when she entered the writing room with Post, who was playing some of the songs he wrote with Combs. “They were playing me some of the stuff that they had been writing and one song that him [Post Malone] and Luke Combs had written together really stuck out to me… He was like, ‘Do you want to get on this song?’ And I was like, 'Alright, sure.' That’s how that happened.”

Lainey and Post debuted the song together during Post Malone’s Grand Ole Opry debut Wednesday night (8/14). “What a special night… Take it in, man,” Lainey told Post as she joined him on stage. “I’m terrified,” he replied with a laugh before quickly getting something off his chest.

“I just bought a picture of you on Morrison Gallery. Do you know that website?” He asked as Lainey along with the crowd erupted in laughter. “I was like, ‘This is badass… it’s like a picture of you at a show… I just bought a new spot so I want to put it [up]. I love you.’”

“What in the world?” Lainey responded with a smile. “Now I need a picture of you in my house! Every morning I’d be like, ‘I love you buddy!’”

Lainey and Post have clearly started quite the friendship following their work together for this album. Hear the magic of it all by checking out F-1 Trillion, available everywhere on August 16.
