Writers, pro crappie fishermen, and vendors from 14 states gathered at Lake of the Ozarks at Lake Breeze Resort for the #2024LOZFishCamp hosted by Big Mike Jones, of Mississippi, and Brad Wiegeman, of Arkansas. The Catch, Cook and Clean agenda featured fishing contests, fish cleaning contests, cooking contests, and jig tying contests. It was a 3-day event that paired outdoor writers and podcasters with some of the best crappie fishermen in the nation.
In segment 1 , Living the Dream Outdoors Podcast host Bill Cooper joins National Crappie Association co-owner Tim Patterson on the water as he targets black crappie on the Lake of the Ozarks. In segment 2 Cooper interviews 13-year-old Easton Chastten, the youngest contestant in the professional field of jig tiers contest. Easton placed second in a field of adult tiers. Additionally, he was awarded a lifetime membership in the National Crappie Association, and other prizes including rods, reels, fishing lures and a memento shirt from the president of the NCA.
