On November 13th, 1974, Ronald “Butch” DeFeo breezed into one of his usual hangout spots, Henry’s Bar. It was his neighbourhood hangout, and he wasn’t out of place there. But that night, he looked gruff, eager, and dishevelled. Several of the patrons eyed him. At first, their gazes were sparse if not slightly cordial. Ronald DeFeo, after all, was a regular. But something about his hungry gaze gave the patrons pause. They quieted as his presence, like a black hole, soaked up the energy in the room “You’ve gotta help. My father and mother have been shot!”, he boomed.

As nervous patrons exchanged glanced, little did they know that Ron DeFeo’s words, and the actions that he committed that night, would have consequences that would spill over onto our collective conscious – and the fabric of the town of Amityville – for decades to come…

Today, I'll be telling you the true tale of the Amityville Horror House!
