Stillbirth affects about 1 in 175 births, and each year about 21,000 babies are stillborn in the United States. This month is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
Leslie Shannehan is a volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital, working with mothers who have lost an infant. She shared ways the hospital is helping parents grieve the loss of a child, including a recent donation of a bassinet-type device called “cuddlecot.”
