Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the Idaho murders, is facing a delay to his trial. Originally scheduled for June 2025, the trial was moved from Moscow, Idaho to Boise, Idaho due to Kohberger’s defense attorneys successfully arguing that he couldn’t receive a fair trial in Moscow. The trial is now being overseen by Judge Steven Hippler.

Kohberger was transported from Latah County to Ada County on September 19, 2024. A new mugshot was taken upon his arrival in Ada County, showing Kohberger with a more rugged appearance, featuring an unkempt beard and bloodshot eyes. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty if Kohberger is convicted. Kohberger’s defense attorneys are attempting to have capital punishment removed as a possible sentence.
