In our eleventh episode of Pearls' Tales from the Superyacht Laundry, we sit down for a chat with Rosie Mira, who is still in the industry. This episode chats about how even those still in the industry have begun thinking about the future already.

Rosie cut her teeth in the hospitality industry from a young age, waitressing tables and working her way up to management. She lived in London and worked for a prestigious restaurant group for years, running and opening various locations. With itchy feet and a trip to Greece, she decided it was time for a change and found herself looking at the yachting industry.

This episode delves into what makes the industry special and how, although she had plenty of on-land experience, she got into yachting later in life than the rest of the crew she worked with but continued to work her way up the ranks like everyone else.

Rosie talks about her highs and lows in yachting and the importance of connections, networking, and opportunities within the industry. She discusses the intricate role of a purser, life managing a new build, and what is needed to succeed.

She chats about her plans for the future to secure a rotational position to allow her to balance creating a life ashore - perhaps in sunny Palma. Although she isn't quite ready to leave, she explains how having networks like Pearls is helping ease the transition and how it has helped her think about the longer term.
Tune in to hear Rosie's journey, her future plans and her valuable advice to others in the industry…
