Keith A. Reynolds 00:00:00 This is an off the chart special bulletin. Welcome to and off the chart with Medical economics special bulletin. I'm your host, Keith Reynolds, and today we feature something a little different. Don't worry, your regular episode will be out this Friday, but this time I'll be giving you a preview of the upcoming 2024 tri State Healthcare Leaders Conference presented by the Indiana MGM, Kentucky MGM and the Health Care Leaders Association of Ohio. The show will be held from September 18th to 20th in Louisville, Kentucky. And today, I'd like to share what some of the experts who will be running sessions during the convention are looking forward to this year. Jennifer Wiggins is CEO of Ageless Malpractice Solutions.
Jennifer Wiggins 00:00:53 You know, this year I am really excited that we're doing a tri state conference. So to be able to meet with administrators from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, and I was trying to think this might be the first time ever that all three of those states have been together. So it's a really awesome opportunity, I think, for all of the attendees, the exhibitors, sponsors, to be able to network amongst all of those states in the region.
Jennifer Wiggins 00:01:18 So I'm really excited to just reconnect with industry peers, connect with some clients and, you know, explore collaboration opportunities. And of course, you know, in this post-Covid era where I work from home and I think a lot of people do as well, to be able to spend some extended period of time together in person is always really enjoyable.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:01:38 She'll be taking part in a roundtable discussion on the malpractice landscape on September 19th.
Jennifer Wiggins 00:01:43 So I'll tell you what. In all my years of working with the MMA, I don't know that we've really touched on malpractice all that much, especially not in the recent years. But there is a lot happening in the malpractice market right now. So it's a great opportunity at this panel discussion for the healthcare administrators to kind of hear from a panel of experts and to get a broad perspective on trends important changes, and really what they need to know to ensure that their practices are going to be best protected for the years to come.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:02:18 Next up is Ashkan Niku, head of security at Bluegrass Orthopaedic.
Ashkan Nikou 00:02:24 I'm looking forward to hearing all the different perspectives and scenarios and just case things that go on at different, practices throughout all three states that are going to be joining us at the conference.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:02:37 He'll be presenting a session on using verbal judo to persuade on September 19th.
Ashkan Nikou 00:02:42 I hope attendees, walk away with questions. not necessarily concerned, but a curiosity to learn more. as the world is ever evolving. and, you know, propose scenarios and just have a peace of mind and answers to move something forward for their practice and beyond that.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:03:08 Stephen Dickens is vice president at SV MC.
Stephen A. Dickens 00:03:13 Well at the conference, I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to to network with, old friends, meet new people, collaborate. I'm always interested to hear new content, new approaches, and I realize a lot of the topics stay the same year to year. But you know, there's always some tweak, there's always some change. So it's it's nice to be in the same boat with a lot of other people doing the same thing.
Stephen A. Dickens 00:03:40 So I'm excited to see people and learn a little bit.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:03:43 He'll present a session entitled steps for Success in Strategic Planning and Leading Change on September 19th.
Stephen A. Dickens 00:03:50 Well, I really hope those people who come to my session who have an interest in learning more about strategic planning and change management, will understand that it's not the big hairy beast everyone seems to think it is. Strategic planning is really a tool. It's it's a process that is all that there is to it now. There's organization to it, there's management to it, there's communication elements to it, all of those types of things. But I want attendees to walk away with a game plan of how they would approach, collecting the data to begin the process for their own strategic planning to how they would organize it and how they would then manage the plan moving forward and understand that, you know, the, you know, strategic plans in this day and age of health care need to be flexible and adaptable.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:04:48 That was Jennifer Wiggins, Ashkan Niku and Steven Adkins, who will all be presenting at this year's Tri state Healthcare Leaders Conference presented by the Indiana MMA, Kentucky MMA, and the Health Care Leaders Association of Ohio.
Keith A. Reynolds 00:05:01 The show will be held from September 18th 20th in Louisville. As you can tell, this year is not to be missed.
