NATIONWIDE: Mediating Nasir County Conflict for Lasting Coexistence

Parliamentarians representing Upper Nile State’s Nasir County in the National Legislative Assembly plan to embark on a peace mission to restore calm in the area.  This follows confrontations between armed youth and members of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) a week ago, leaving three army officers dead. Tensions between SSPDF and the locals armed youth have been attributed to lack of trust, prompting the need for confidence building.
Hon Gatwech Lam Puoch, representing constituency number 12 Nasir County joins Sani Martin to explain the expected outcomes and ways of engagement they are planning for the peace mission.
