In 1789, St Louis Cemetery was opened in New Orleans and quickly filled up by the number of people who were dying of disease and disaster. Today, it is one of the most haunted cemeteries. There are so many stories of visitors seeing “people”, hearing voices, feeling someone touching them. Cats and dogs make an appearance and so do the likes of Voodoo Queen herself, Marie Laveau, William Claiborne- the first governor of Louisiana, and the infamous serial killer Madame LaLaurie.
