Over 70 % of the South Sudanese population is said to be of the youth age bracket. The history of protracted civil wars in the country has record of majority of youth involvement in the negative developments that include among others political violent, inter-communal conflicts, cattle rustling and other crimes. During conflict, the youth are the most fragmented entity without any value that identifies them as purpose driven entity or unites under one national identity.

However, the stunning performances of the Bright Stars in FIBA world Cup and Olympic games ongoing in Paris have demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt that sport can forge unity and collate citizens around common value and identity in South Sudan.

This week's guests on the program were;

  • Hon Acuil Malith: Former Secretary-General of the South Sudan Basketball Association
  • Hon Tong Deng Anei – Former minister of Sports, in Northern Barh el-Ghazal
  • Gen Augustino Maduot Parek: President of South Sudan Football Association
