On Thursday 8/1 St. Petersburg's Arts Alliance Executive Director Terry Marks and other arts leaders, artists and the public attended the St. Petersburg City Council meeting to show support for a proposed increase (to one percent) in the city’s annual allotment for the arts. It was the latest in a series of public conversations both at the Warehouse Arts District and at The Palladium  7/31 Funding the Arts: A Call to Action, an open-to-the-public forum sponsored by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance held a conversation at the Palladium Theater as part of the arts community's reaction to Florida governor Ron DeSantis’ blanket veto of arts funding in the 2024-25 state budget. Kimberly Jackson  moderated the panel which featured Terry Marks, Arts Alliance CEO; Margaret Murray, Creative Pinellas CEO; Jennifer Jones, president and CEO of the Florida Cultural Alliance and Alex Harris/Arts Conservatory for Teens (ACT).
