Bethany's Home Sweet Haunted Home, Part Two | Guest Elsie Lodde

Jul 30, 05:00 AM

Built in 1878, Bethany’s Home Sweet Haunted Home has worn many hats throughout its history. From a brothel and boarding house to a speakeasy and gambling den, a family home, and now an Airbnb, this house has seen it all. Nestled in the heart of Gold Country, in Jackson, California, where the Wild West left behind more than just memories, this home has been a silent witness to countless tales and energies over the last 150 years.

But what truly sets this house apart is its ghostly residents. Is the former owner, Maggie, still there, along with her child and husband? Is Steve still dwelling in the basement? Why do so many spirits linger in the home?

The house is definitely haunted. But these spirits are friendly and won’t disturb anyone who isn’t interested in communicating with them. Ask them to leave you alone, and they promise to be nice.

This is part two of three of our conversations about Bethany’s Home Sweet Haunted Home with owner Elsie Lodde. For more information, visit their website: bethanyshomesweethauntedhome.com.
