This episode covers:
  • The toughest challenge I have done to date
  • The experience of the journey along with the lessons from completing it
In 2021, my cardio goal was to complete all separate parts of an ironman triathlon separately. It would ensure I get fit, and also put me in a good position if I ever wanted to do one in future. But I picked too many goals that year, and didn’t prioritise the cardio ones properly. I completed the 3.9km swim, but didn’t even train for the marathon or cycle. Then one weekend in December as I realised this, I said f**k it: I’m going for the marathon tomorrow morning. Untrained. In barefoot shoes. You said you’d do it, now it's time to back up your aspirations with your actions. This wasn’t going to be a test of endurance, it was going to be a test of pure will. It was time to see how far the don’t settle attitude could take me.
