Melissa in the Morning: Boaters Beware

Lawmakers in Washington DC are discussing the Protecting Whales, Human Safety and the Economy Act of 2023. If passed, it would prohibit the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (NOAA) from capping the speed for boats along much of the Atlantic Coast, which includes Long Island Sound. We spoke with Frank Hugelmeyer, the President of the National Marine Manufacturers Association. He shared the impacts of this proposed legislation, specifically on Connecticut’s boaters, economy and aqualife.
