NORWEGIAN FOREIGN MINISTER: "We Expect More From the Talks"

Norwegian Foreign Affairs Minister, Espen Barthe Eide, addressed the High-Level Mediation Talks for South Sudan in Nairobi on Friday. 

Foreign Minister Eide recounted the long cordial history and similarities the people of Norway share with South Sudan, right from the liberation struggle to Independence and onwards.

The Foreign Minister sounded ‘disappointment’ at the trajectory of events and urged the delegates at the Tumaini initiative to make sure that this is the last time they are leaving their country to ‘solve their problems.’

In attendance were the government delegation, opposition hold-out delegates, stakeholders as well as the Kenyan mediators and observers.
