Today I speak to Debz, who is someone I have heard speak twice at Hope Street. She is a bubbly and positive person who shares openly about her issues with wellbeing and mental health to help others. Debz was once told by a senior mental health professional that she was a very unusual case! She talks about her deep depression and anxiety and shares ideas to help people to navigate difficult times.

 We talk about….

-            The impact of trauma on mental health.
-            The sudden emergence of acute anxiety and depression at 30.
-            The importance of purpose and meaning.
-            Medication and the issues surrounding it.
-            The patchy provision and postcode lottery of mental health provision and        support.
-            The importance of social prescribing through organisations such as Hope Street.
-            The power of hearing from others with lived experience.
-            Advice and way of improving and feeling better.
-            On the beauty and importance of life and why you should never ever give up!!!
