Welcome. Hello, everybody. I'm here today with the wonderful Monica
Douglas. She is a, an old and dear friend of
mine. We met years ago in Los Angeles doing a
joint training with Catherine Woodward Thomas and we've had a
heart centered connection ever since. Even though she now lives
in Barbados most of the time. Yeah. She is the
initiator and inventor, creator of Wild Heart wisdom and we're
here today to talk about Opening to Love. Let me
tell you a bit about her. Before I introduce her,
she's a certified relationship coach, the founder of the Wild
Wisdom, which offers guidance to professionals who are navigating healthy
relationships, post breakup or divorce and through mentoring her beautiful
oracle cards and meditations. She helps clients deepen their instincts
and expand their intuition. And she does that by 1
to 1 or group coaching, spiritual guidance workshops and retreats
for people of any faith. Her mission stems from personal
experience recovering from a 27 year relationship using her own
tools with 25 years plus of experience. She's certified in
conscious uncoupling and calling in the one coaching, wellness coaching
and yoga instruction. Her diverse expertise and compassion, a compassionate
approach, make her a valuable guide towards healthier, more fulfilling
relationships. Welcome, Monica. Oh Thank you, Heather. Thank you for
that introduction. Great to be here. Oh, it's lovely to
see you. So tell us how we open to love.
Um So the first thing I wanna say about that
is love is all around us and the process is
are releasing any barriers that are in the way to
us receiving that, which is all around us. Our state
is that. And this exploration of the wild wisdom is
is recognizing that we are natural beings, we're nature and
we're divine at the same time. And in the space
in between is where we get the joy of connecting
with ourselves to others in life in order to open
to love. Mm mm So I know you use your
wild heart wisdom to do this. Can you tell me
a little bit about how that works and what people
can experience as they go through it? Yeah. So wild
heart wisdom is part of the wild wisdom. So the
wild wisdom looks at the body, the heart, the mind
and the soul and being aware of uh connecting with
our intuition in the body. Oh sorry, uh instinct in
the body, our intuition in the heart, our insight in
the mind and inspiration from the soul. And in this
discussion with you, I really wanted to focus on wild
heart wisdom because it's talking about how we open our
hearts expand into intuition and again, allow ourselves to see
in the different aspects of our life where love is
flowing and where it may be blocked. Hm Yes, there's,
there's so much can get caught up with old baggage
that we carry in all of those areas. Body, soul,
heart, mind. Yeah. Yeah. Um So the wild wisdom is
about it all. We're not missing anything out because actually,
it's a holistic system when we are focused on love
and relationships, that makes sense for the entry point to
be the heart and to be uh intuition him. So
that's why I wanted to speak to you about what
hot with them today. Um That's wonderful. So tell, tell
me the process that people go through when they come
to you. Can you give us a case study so
that we can show how it works? Yeah. So, um
this is foundational work for my coaching and some people,
it's the first, it's the first time that they would
connect with me through the Wild Wisdom and the Wild
Wisdom article. So the oracle cards are a set of
44 oracle cards within a deck, there are 11 that
are focused on wild heart wisdom. Now, those of you
who are listening won't be able to see. But if
you're watching this on the video, you will. So these
are the Wild Heart Wisdom cards. They have um a
number of aspects to them. There's a color associated with
each card. There's a central mandala that is the same,
but in a different color way for each card, wild
heart wisdom at the top and at the bottom, there
is a paraphrase or mantra which focuses on an aspect
of our life and connected life such as this one,
I love my past. So in if somebody is coming
to me and their first entry point is through the
card, they will either receive a card or be listening
to the meditation that's associated with that card and seeing
what comes up. And the idea is we, there's a
five minute meditation for each of those cards. And in
that meditation, we're in the space of connecting with everyone
who's ever been with this. Everybody who thought about whether
they love their past through the wild wisdom and then
we're going to connect with everybody who might be looking
at that card or connecting with the energy of it
right now. So thinking about all the people who are
contemplating right now on this podcast, I love my past
and then thinking of anyone who will be gazing at
this card contemplating this reflection in the future. And we're
part of this community of people who are opening up
to loving their past. And by doing this, we also
release the sense of we're doing this alone. We're not,
we're not journeying alone, we're journeying together. And when we
do our work, it helps others to do their work
to and in the contemplate and in the five minute
meditation, there's a, an invitation to look at whether that
paraphrase that statement is true or not. And in that
reflection often, what isn't true about that starts to make
itself known, starts to move from the unconscious to the
conscious and then we can do some work on it
because once it's in our awareness, we can come to
coaching, we can ask for help, we can ask for
support and say, actually, I need to make peace with
this in order for love to flow freely through this
aspect of my life. Hm This is really beautiful. I
love that sense of this being a collective venture, a
collective adventure, collective journey, past, present and future. If we're
talking about the past, I love my past. I, I
love that, that it's, it takes away that aloneness that
you talk about because sometimes it can feel like I'm
the only one doing this. Yeah. And that's miserable and
it mirrors probably pieces of the past where you felt.
I am alone, lonely and the dispiriting and the energizing
quality of that. So you're giving energy to begin with
by creating that connection with each and every person who
is contemplating. I love my past. Yeah, I love that
piece and then moving into through meditation. So you're going
deeper in, you're really evaluating and bringing to light because
so much of the time we're living stuff out because
we're not conscious of it. So you're bringing to the
light, the stuff that's in the way the barriers, the
blocks, the encumbrances and that the stuff that gets stuck
in your body. Um So bringing that to light, bringing
it into awareness is great clarity and there's possibility of
movement and this is so beautiful. What you've devised is
so beautiful. All of the aspects of the cards have
different questions and meanings and statements for so many aspects
of love. It's a real innovation, Monica, it's beautiful and
the way that you work with it is just gorgeous,
gorgeous. So another aspect of the cards is the central
Mandala which has sacred geometry. I don't know if you
can see that there. Heather. Mm It's beautiful. The Pod
podcast. I will put uh an example that you can
link to um the card that I just drew was.
I love my family. Mm And there's a central Mandala
and it's an opening. It's an opening lotus with three
drops dropping down from the heart to the solar plexus
to the sacrum, the abdomen and then to the base
of the body. And it's as though in our collective
meditation and contemplation, we're opening up our heart to this.
I love my family being true. And as we do
it, it may be that that isn't true for us
right now, our sense of um connection might not be
there. And what we're doing is leaning on the support
of others and our collective to open up to what
it might be and how it could be if that
were true, whether it's, it may not be possible with
our uh born family, but we can create a new
family, we can create that which we desire. And by
opening up to that, releasing the blockages from how it's
been in the past, we can create and generate a
new future. So interesting that that one was the one
that was drawn second. And you and I are sort
of like that, aren't we? I don't think we're quite
as close as sisters would be, but I think we're
good cousins. Absolutely. I definitely love you. As my family
ever. Mm. Yeah. That's harmony. Yeah. Ok. Could you give
us another example because I, I just love them. You
know, I'd, I'd love to have you, have you draw
another card and see what else comes? I'm a little
bit hooked now. Yeah. Absolutely. Um, so I'm going to
just move through and see what comes. So I said
is, I love my friends. It's a beautiful radiant turquoise.
There's the central mandala again, inviting us to open up
our hearts to this space of all who have ever
contemplated. I love my friends, all who are contemplating now
and all who will contemplate in the future. I love
my friends and this community of the wild wisdom and
drawing it in drawing in the possibility of the truth
of this. I love my friends into the heart and
then letting the essence of this drop down, drop down
uh into the solar plexus, down into the abdomen and
the sacrum down into the root. I love my friends
and then down into the earth as though you're planting
a seed for it, a seed for it to blossom
in your life so that you attract exactly the right
friends. The people who love, accept and respect you as
you are where you can have honest and open conversations
where you can thrive and grow and be encouraged to
be more of who you are. Mm This is beautiful.
What I'm experiencing as we talk is that sense of
being part of a wave together, that this work that
you're doing is exemplifying that all aspects of love. We're
part of a, a rising tide of love in the
world. And when the tide rises, we know all boats
rise together. So we're in a mission together and you
in particular to raise as many boats as possible. And
I love it that you're doing it so deeply. It's
not just one aspect. No, because your wild wisdom involves
movement. You're very sensitive to the body, you're an interfaith
faith minister so that you've got all aspects of spiritual
life within you uh your heart we know about. Absolutely.
And you have a crystal clear imagination and intuition and
created beautiful things in these cards. And there's something that,
that keeps on for me. It's like it is like
watching a lotus flower, watching you develop in your work
like petal after petal unfolding and more developing. And that's
what you're offering to people more and more and more.
And we talked about before we recorded some lovely questions
to ask. Yeah, sitting with the card and exploring. Is
this true for me? Is there something that would need
to change? How am I showing up? What choices am
I making? What needs to shift and grow in me
to fully express? Say I love my friends. Yeah. Love
it. I love it. Yeah. It's been so beautiful. I've,
I've held um 244 day meditation circles. So people, they've
got the cards, they're sitting with them, we're doing the
five minute meditation at some point during the day and
then just, you know, checking in with one another and
in those circles it's been beautiful. The responses. I'm gonna
read one. Actually, somebody sent me the most beautiful um
response. Um on day 43 of the 44 this was
her response. I've just written in my diary. I love
being me. I love who I am. I've never had
that thought in my being now it's planted. How lovely
is that? Mm Who gave me the chill? Yeah. When
I got it, I was so touched. He about this
practice is so simple. Like people are like, oh yeah,
you know, but actually there's something so deep and powerful
about it like because it's so simple. And I, these
came to me three years ago, Heather, I was in
Barbados. I had a download, started writing bits of paper
on the, on the wall with blue tech with these
phrases, these words, these images that were coming to me.
And um I had the courage to, to keep with
the creative process. And there were times when I was
like, why don't you just get these out there? And
it was like, no, not really. It's more work to
do one again. It was like, actually I really needed
to embody these qualities in order to share them. Then
I could share them with a small group and, and
we've evolved them over time and now it feels like
it's time to help share these with whoever it is
will resonate with them. It won't be for everyone, but
it will be for some. And if people receiving this
guidance, helps them to open up to giving and receiving
more love, the work will be done. Yeah, it's beautiful,
beautiful. I was thinking, you know, we were chatting a
bit beforehand talking about not being literal mothers, but somehow
each of us in our different ways are giving birth
to things in the world. I'm giving birth to my
podcast. You're giving birth to your cards and it feels,
but you really needed that pregnant pause to really incubate
them. And again, you know, right through to embodying, it
makes me want to close my eyes as we're talking,
you know, you're embodying. It's in your imagination, your third
eye. I think it's in your throat shaker of communication
to your heart, your courage, your base creativity and your
rootedness, you know, beautiful, beautiful. Yeah. Born into the world.
Yeah. And it's, it's wonderful and, you know, like, like
this podcast ever, it's like a, I would say a
soul inspiration. It's something that only can be borne uniquely
through you. Um It's only something that could be borne
uniquely through me, but it's not, it's not mine. This
is, this is life wanting to create this and um
and to show it. And as I said, it's a
foundation of my coaching work for me. Some of my
clients use this process, some of them don't, but I
need to use it in order to inform the space
and to really hold the energy for people to have
their breakthroughs to see what they need to see, hear,
what they, they need to hear and feel what they
need to feel in order to move into greater love.
Mm So how can people join in one of your
meditation circles or how can they get hold of your
wonderful cards? Yeah. So people um can look for the
wild wisdom and Monica Douglas on all of the socials.
You'll find me. Um We currently have a Kickstarter going
for the, the cards to be produced, which is helping
with the um printing and the marketing and the sending
of them out into the wild. Um And I have
a, a link tree and I'm hoping that I'll be
able to just put that underneath the podcast Heather and
then people can just connect with me where they feel
the right place at a time. That's right for them.
Oh, that would be lovely. That would be lovely. Is
there anything else you would like people to know that
we haven't covered for me. It's the power. You know,
one of the things about the cards and about the
daily five minute meditation is, it's a ritual. It's a
ritual that anchors us back into the spirit of love.
And I feel that we need them. We need these
rituals. We need these reminders to wake us up out
of the trance. Because some days it's really hard and
something as simple as a beautiful card with a picture
that reminds us to breathe into our heart. That reminds
us that we are not alone, that we are connected
to other people. And it reminds us that we can
choose to open for love in this moment can be
so precious. Um So I want to encourage people to
do that. And if anybody just wants to try um
try a meditation, just connect with me. I will draw
a card for you and I will send you the
meditation. So I want to, I want to share this
and to make it accessible to people as possible. So
get in touch, I would love to hear from you.
That's lovely. Thank you so much Monica. Oh, thank you.
