Gary Edgington been chasing the “bad guys” in one way or another since 1976.  He worked as a police officer for several agencies including the Manhattan Beach Police Department, the Beverly Hills Police Department, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. 

In 1994, he was appointed a Special Agent with the California Department of Justice where he worked major narcotics cases, organized crime, unsolved homicide, and internal affairs. 

From 1999 to 2008, he was a member of the FBI’s “Joint Terrorism Task Force” in Los Angeles. This included promotion after 9/11 to Task Force Commander over a multi-agency counter-terrorism unit based in Southern California. 

Gary retired in 2008 and deployed to Iraq as an embedded counterterrorism/organized crime subject matter expert working counter-IED with the US Army. 

Following Iraq he became an intelligence/terrorism analyst with the Department of Defense, working on Guantanamo detainee cases. He also held a staff assignment at the U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida.

Currently, Gary oversees southeastern US security operations for an international corporation. 

He’s published articles in three magazines, a novel titled, Outside the Wire, and had a feature script optioned by a production company in Hollywood, California.

 When not writing or chasing bad guys, he’s fishing or hanging out with his grandson.
