Pamela Joy Trow. Local artist and champion/mentor of arts and artists on RadioStPete's "Lunchtime Conversations" 3-5-24
Season 1, Episode 7176, Mar 04, 06:07 PM
Radio St. Pete INSIDER news director Nanette Wiser is a fan of Pamela Joy Trow’s art and her inspired cards. As executive editor of Paradise News, her Live Life Better column featured the talented artists’ art monthly as “Words of Joy.” Trow is a life-long artist and illustrator and much of her work has been inspired by where she lived.
Says Trow: “Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, I was mesmerized by the goddesses in the Greek myths we read in early grade school. My career in design and illustration started in Atlanta, where I embraced the power of symbols and their ability to make emotional connections…the basis of my art. Living in the great Pacific Northwest was a spiritual experience. The majesty of the Cascade mountains, beauty of the Deschutes River, and clean dry air of the High Desert, incited the spiritual themes that run through my work today.”
During her stay in Santa Fe, she was inspired by the colors, images, and stories originating from the prominent Mexican art and culture. It was a natural attraction for me to be drawn to the Day of the Dead holiday, and Mexican artist and icon, Frida Kahlo. “I strive to capture the mystery of her underlying strength that kept her creating throughout a life of chronic pain,” says Trow. Now living on the West coast of Florida, she loves to illustrate the mermaids and creatures imagined living among the fish and birds of the blue waters. Calling the Land of Sunshine my home, I continue to travel to different parts of my imagination and strive to create works that lift you to places that make you smile from inside to out.” https://www.pamelajoytrow.com/ #pamelajoytrow #nanettewiser #radiostpeteinsider #tampabay #radio #radiostpete
