The new census of agriculture was released this month. The report is conducted every five years and our Department of Agriculture looked at Connecticut’s farming numbers and operational costs. Commissioner Bryan Hurlburt explains why our farm numbers have dropped slightly and why the cost to produce farm fresh products has gone up substantially.
