ROUNDTABLE: Political Parties' Positions on Elections

Different political parties in South Sudan have been stating their positions regarding the upcoming elections. According to peace monitors R-JMEC, the six-year period of the Agreement marks the longest period of relative peace, inclusivity and stability since South Sudan got its independence in 2011. Elections are intended to terminate the transitional process and usher in a democratically elected government.
The South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO) and the Other Political Parties (OPP) alliance have stated their positions regarding elections. They all say elections must be held in December. However, the SPLM-IO has voiced that all conditions that were set in the roadmap must be fully implemented first. It is 10 months before the anticipated elections. In this episode Radio Miraya's Sani Martin interrogates the parties' positions as released.
