Professor James Ukuk: Reflections on the four years of RTGoNU in South Sudan
Episode 2651, Feb 29, 10:15 AM
The South Sudan Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (RTGoNU) is in its 4 years and possibly its final leg as elections are expected in December 2024. Professor James Ukuk tells Radio Miraya's Sani Martin that there has been relative calm as the capital city Juba and the capitals of other States has experienced stability. He says the economic activity has attracted people to the capitals. However, he expresses concern on the rule of law as judges have left the judiciary. The gap is clear on the backlog of cases as some people are in prisons without trial. Prof Ukuk says political party silos are undermining efforts on comprehensive implementation of reforms.
