"The recording location is an unidentified crossroad in Tokyo. Whenever the traffic light turns green, the speakers on the traffic lights play continuous bird chirping sounds to alert people to proceed.

"In some parts of China, which is also in the Asian region, pre-recorded human voices are used to signal pedestrians at crossroads. I believe that using bird chirping sounds instead of other practical sounds may be a method to reduce urban noise and provide people with a momentary auditory respite.

"Hearing a clear bird chirping at a bustling crossroad is indeed a fascinating adventure. There are many crossroads in Tokyo where bird chirping serves as the alert sound like this."

Recorded in Japan by Boyi Bai.
