Bry Leighton: creative blocks

In this Art Musings episode, Carole and Sally chat with a collage artist: Bry Leighton. The focus? How do you deal with a dirth of creative ideas? And more importantly, how do you get out of it?

"I'm a collage artist from Oxford. All my work is hand-cut - no digital - as I enjoy the process of searching through books and magazines for source images, then cutting process of searching through books and magazines for source images, then cutting and gluing by hand. So, all the pieces I sell are one-offs.
"I've come to collage relatively recently; I started nearly 3 years ago. I used to paint and draw obsessively when I was younger, but with A levels, then university, I fell out of the habit. It's lovely to have something arty back in my life! I have a degree in French, German, and Spanish, and a masters in history of art and design. For a living, I teach art history and also zumba aerobics."
