Geographic Information System Day: Real time data for peacekeeping solutions

As the world celebrates the Geographic Information System Day, UNMISS Chief Geospatial Information Officer Zahurul Islam explains how GIS technology has enhanced the capabilities of the peacekeeping mission. Since the unit was set up, it has helped peacekeepers with real time data on the South Sudan terrain. Islam says GIS also enables the real time data tracing of information on flooding in the country.
