RNIB Connect Voices Round Up 15 November 2023

Season 2, Episode 225,   Nov 15, 2023, 09:00 AM

Jemma Davidson, RNIB Customer Voice Insight Coordinator shares the latest opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to get involved in with RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey.

Opportunities highlighted this week included:

Gym Buddy: A new database to match BPS people with gym buddies.
Millie is a See Sport Differently Champion based in Worcestershire. She is working on a project to create a gym buddy database, similar to the Find a Guide Database for finding a guide runner.
Millie is a former personal trainer and is hoping that the new database could help increase access to gyms for blind and partially sighted people. The hope is that the database will connect users with volunteers who have signed up to support visually impaired individuals in using their local gym. Such support would include guiding people around the facilities and equipment.
In order to develop this concept further and make Gym Buddy a reality, Millie is looking for people to fill out a survey she has created. This will help Millie gain some valuable feedback on the idea and gauge interest.
If you would like to help Millie then do send her an email via hayter87@googlemail.com
