Season 2, Episode 190,   Oct 24, 2023, 08:00 AM

Train operator TransPennine Express who already offer a number of services for their blind and partially sighted passengers have just installed a number of new ‘Tactile Maps for All’ at a number of their stations, developed by the RNIB using a mixture of textures, Braille and raised print to help make navigating around their stations easier for blind and partially sighted passengers.

RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey was joined by Chris Jeffery, TransPennine Express Accessibility & Transport Integration Manager to not only find out more about the new tactile Maps for All but also about thee other services they offer to blind and partially sighted travellers.

Chris worked with Michelle Lee, RNIB’s Accessible Maps, Images and Signage Consultant on the tactile Maps for All and other tactile signs that they have in place around their stations.
