The possibility of another home—of more space, of somewhere to go when we simply wanted a change—was very appealing.
But I would have to tell Lauren and the kids about the creek and I didn’t know how to do that. I hoped an answer would come to me as Lauren and I drove up to see the house for the first time, but it didn’t.
