Song of shadows

"This composition takes Oscar Marin’s wonderfully atmospheric field recording keeping its original length of 20 minutes, but cut, sampled and slowed down. I have then layered this with my own recorded and mixed and sampled sounds to create a composite soundscape that I hope creates a tranquil space for relaxation and sleep.
Research indicates that pulsing and repeating sounds out of sequence can help the brain and body relax before sleep, I have also included sounds to occupy the mind to distract from any temporal thoughts of daily life and things that need to be done!
The ‘hiss’ is intentional to help create a constant thread of texture and tone."

Mexican dawn chorus reimagined by Mary Hooper.
