The night is for building castles the day won't allow

"The recording I worked with felt extraordinarily sparse, and after several listens brought to mind how the night is a vast blank canvas in which the ordinariness of the daytime world can segue into a realm of dream-like potential - culminating in that world our dreams build for us, only for it to be dismantled in the morning. I responded musically by building something similar; a melody (itself written, in its earliest stages, on the edge of sleep) that rises from almost nothing, builds and fits itself with arches and spires, only to dissolve again, belonging to a different world and only able to exist within that other place."
