“Adorning the Doctrine” by Greg Chandler

As the Apostle Paul gave instructions to Titus on what to preach, he may have been somewhat surprised when told to teach slaves that they are to “adorn the doctrine of God the Savior” (Titus 2:10). These words are important not only to slaves in Rome but to all those who wear the name of Jesus Christ. This study will not only define and discuss the meaning and application of doctrine, but it will also encourage Christians to seriously consider how they, like their enslaved brothers and sisters twenty centuries ago, can also adorn the doctrine through their attitudes and actions.
