3:46

"What does the time 3:46 mean, without an am or pm behind it?

Maybe it exists as a reference point. Maybe it is a time suspended in time before finally falling asleep. But what if sleep doesn’t come, easily or at all? Is someone awake at 3:46 or…awakening? Does the time 3:46 connote sleep during the day or at night?

Listening deeply to the field recording of an Icelandic waterfall inspired the realization that people all over the world could be awake and falling asleep at different times. Or, all at the same time. 3:46 is night and day. One person could be awake, trying to fall back asleep at night but another might be trying to take a nap during the day. Music for sleep…when?

Whatever the case, this simple, gentle arrangement of the sound of a waterfall in Iceland provided by Cities and Memory: Music for Sleep mixed with a Croatian sea organ provided by Adam Danz (freesound.org) works like a lullaby. . .whenever."
