Rebecca "Becky" Hill, the court clerk accused of tampering with the jury in the Alex Murdaugh double murder trial, has hired two high-profile attorneys, including State Rep Justin Bamberg and former assistant US attorney Will Lewis, to represent her. The allegations against Hill, detailed in a motion by Alex Murdaugh's defense team seeking a new trial, claim that she interfered with the jury due to a desire for fame and a book deal. The motion accuses Hill of misconduct, including one-on-one conversations with jurors, delaying cigarette breaks for smokers, and providing jurors with reporters' business cards. If these allegations are proven true, it could potentially lead to a new trial for Murdaugh. An evidentiary hearing is expected to take place to examine the evidence. As of now, Hill does not face any criminal charges.
