Word Humanitarian Day: Aid agencies require $1.7 bln within one month, for emergency support

Humanitarian partners have about one month to realize the required donor funding to respond to growing humanitarian needs in South Sudan. 

This is the grim message from Acting UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Peter Van der Auweraet as we observe World Humanitarian Day today. 

“Humanitarians require US$1.7 billion to target 6.8 million of the most vulnerable people out of 9.4 million people in need of humanitarian in the country. So far, the humanitarian response plan is funded only at about 45%”
