"Arts Alive" w/ Bill DeYoung 8-14-23: Eugenie Bondurant
Season 1, Episode 6515, Aug 14, 2023, 03:37 PM
There aren’t a lot of full-time St. Petersburg residents who turn up frequently in movies or on TV, or who walk the swankiest of Parisian fashion-modeling runways.
Topping the list of one is Eugenie Bondurant, who is today’s guest on our Arts Alive! podcast. Originally from New Orleans, Bondurant arrived in the bay area 20 years ago (this very month) on the arm of her newly-minted husband, Hillsborough native Paul Wilborn.
Bondurant’s life and career, so far, have been extraordinary – a combination of talent, hard work, luck and fortune both good and not-so-good (and that turned out to be a dark cloud with a silver lining). Everything seems to have worked out just fine.
You can see the 6-foot-1 actress in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Hunger Games – Mockingjay, Part 2, the Marvel Comics TV film Werewolf By Night, and in indie films including Fear of Rain (alongside Harry Connick Jr.) and 115 Grains, both produced locally.
In this interview, Bondurant discusses them all, along with her appearance on TV’s Star Trek: The Next Generation (there’s a very funny story there); she also dropped in on Arliss, Frasier and other programs during her pre-Florida tenure in Los Angeles.
Today, she’s teaching a full slate of acting classes at Green Light Cinema in St. Pete and enjoying the heck out of life in the ‘Burg. #Eugenie Bondurant #artsalive stpetecatalyst #billdeyoung #tampabay #radio #stpete #radiostpete
