Barnsley Museums, Audio-Described Events for Blind and Partially Sighted People

Barnsley Museums care and look after a number of historic venues in and around Barnsley encouraging visitors to explore the people and places of the area.
Barnsley Museums have recently been working with VocalEyes on both a recorded audio described guide for the exhibition Light and Soul - Early Impressions of The French Landscape which will be available from 7 August until the end of the exhibition on 7 October 2023 and a described film showing on Saturday 26 August 2023. The film showing includes — historic reconstruction videos of Elsecar Village in 1880 and of Eldon Street in Barnsley Town Centre in the 1960s plus a film on the restoration of Cannon Hall Museum, Park and Gardens and many more.
