The Cycling Podcast: 10 Years In The Saddle

This past week, The Cycling Podcast team arrived in the Basque region to begin their 11th year covering the Tour de France, having recently marked the 10th anniversary since their maiden podcast, recorded on an iPhone whilst sat in a park. Safe to say things have grown a bit since those earliest days. They are one of the most successful sports podcasts in the UK and can be seen on listener charts alongside household names and the biggest media companies. Lionel Birnie shares his story of the Podcast and his reflections on the journey he began with friends Daniel Friebe and the late Richard Moore, whos loss in 2022 is still both a hole in the fabric of the Podcast, and the drive to keep it on the road.
