In today's episode we are going to discuss suicide.

I want to take a moment to talk about that before we introduce our guest who has kindly agreed to join us.

In episode 15 we spoke with Lawrence Sprung about his personal experience with suicide and also his work with The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Please revisit it if you are in crisis. The show notes also contain links to help.

Suicide is a topic we feature on this podcast because of its link to parental alienation, family court proceedings, legal abuse, etc.

The result of the extreme trauma caused, sometimes maliciously and for no reason, and sometimes by people who call themselves professionals, can cause suicide in parents and children.

Today’s guest is Collin Hughes. I heard his story a few months ago and I was moved by it.

I hope this episode will reach those listeners going through tough times or listeners who know someone who is.

Collin is a former pro-rodeo athlete, a former airline pilot and is now a voice actor. That’s a pretty interesting sounding trio of careers.

However in 2022 Collin’s 15 year old granddaughter, Evangelina, died by suicide.

Collin has a moving website (https://stopsuicide.life). He also speaks widely on the subject of suicide to raise awareness and I am very grateful he agreed to join us.

During the conversation Collin spoke about the QPR Institute who talk about the 'Question. Persuade. Refer' approach to suicide prevention. Their website is https://qprinstitute.com
