The Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly was reconstituted in August 2021, as provided for in the 2018 Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.
The parliament was expanded to 550 members drawn from all the parties to the agreement.
It is headed by the Right Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, the first female speaker, nominated in July 2021.
