The South Sudan Red Cross and its partners have launched a 4-year strategic plan to respond to the needs to the communities in remote areas. The 2022-2026 plan focuses on provision of health services, hygiene and sanitation and delivery of humanitarian assistance. It was launched at an event in Juba yesterday, to mark this year’s World Red Cross Red Crescent Day commemoration. Representing the government, the Chairperson of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs Committee in Parliament, Akuar Gamar Ujieth, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to provide an enabling environment to allow humanitarian work. During the event, the administration of the South Sudan Red Cross commissioned its new headquarters building in the capital Juba.  It has taken two years to construct the complex worth over 900-thousand US dollars.
