Juba City Mayor urges residents to report water suppliers violating order regulating water prices.

The Mayor of Juba City is appealing to residents to report to the police and relevant authorities, any water suppliers who are not adhering to a new directive on the cost of water.
Michael Lado Thomas Allah-Jabu says water tankers buy water from Water urban corporation at 100 SSP per liter but sell to the public at an exaggerated cost of 1,500 SSP.
Mayor Allah Jabu in an interview on Radio Miraya this morning, reiterated that citizens within Juba must buy water at 800 SSP for those in the city and 1,000 SSP for areas in the outskirts of Juba.
The mayor said the instruction to reduce prices is a short-term measure to ensure constant supply to the public.
The order came into force yesterday, to protect consumers, after water suppliers increased prices citing high fuel prices.
