Under Heaven

"The First Pass Under Heaven is a stronghold near the eastern end of the Great Wall of China. The percussion here is built from hammer blows on scaffolding and the drones from the calls of workers. A major pentatonic scale and Chinese instrumentation were chosen to evoke the feeling of the location, although no attempt was made to emulate traditional performance techniques."
