"I used a small piece of the sample as a pulsating backbone, as well as some other clips fed through Tone Transfer to add a deeper throb and some wistful noises. I added in some violin as a nod to the scale and history of Venice but I also wanted to capture the oppression of the industrial mechanical nature of the original recording. There is conflict here, do we love the city or are we simply trapped here? The drilling subsides. Peace is restored."
