The situation in the region, specifically Sudan crisis, continues to top news headlines around the world. We in South Sudan have a specific interest, not only because of our history, but for all our citizens living in Sudan.  

According to the UNHCR representative in South Sudan Marie-Hellen Verney there are eight hundred and four thousand South Sudanese registered as refugees in Sudan, of which 191,000 in Khartoum and more than 290,000 in White Nile. There are probably many more living who are not even registered.

A South Sudanese - America political analyst Census Lo-Liyong, although working in the US lately, has been watching closely events back home. Ms Liyong believes that, as Sudan and South Sudan are intertwined through history, culture and feed off each other, silencing the guns in Sudan need to be tandem with South Sudan.
