"This was one of the most ‘challenging’ field-recordings I have worked with to date. It was not originally my own field-recording. I reflected upon the fact that there was a minute’s applause for football supporters who had passed-away. The announcer says “May they all rest in peace” and “The applause will end on the referee’s whistle”. With this in mind I created an electronic requiem, or lament, for the football fans who had passed-away. I also wanted to capture the awesome waves of energy that flow through a large human crowd, balancing flows of chaos and order in almost equal measures.

"I employed a number of Granular Synthesis methods and sample manipulation techniques (hardware and software) to create the electronic instruments, melodic content and atmospheric sounds, using harmonic tones found during the manipulation of the football crowd’s sonic content. There are also organised ‘chance-operation’ hardware Modular Synthesis methods and techniques employed within elements of the soundscape."
