A new approach is needed to address issues affecting internally displaced persons.

That’s according to the UN Assistant Secretary-General and Special Advisor on Solutions to Internal Displacement, Robert Andrew Piper, who is currently on a visit to South Sudan. 

Assistant Secretary General Piper says the most effective approach should be led by the government through line ministries with combined efforts from other actors including humanitarians. 

Mr Piper returned from Wau yesterday where he visited an IDP camp to get a better understanding of the conditions of the displaced persons.
